How to tell you are on the real By Evette Santos shop
Our planners are sold in three places: byevettesantos.com, our TikTok Shop, and our Instagram shop. Both shops are under the name @Byevettesantos. If you reached a planner page any other way, check the address in your browser before you pay. Copycat sites have used our videos and photos in ads, and we would rather you double check than lose your money.
Here is what happened, and how to protect yourself.
Why is this happening?
For the last two holiday seasons, a business overseas has copied our planners and our content, along with the products of many other shops, and used them in ads to sell a fake planner. People who order from these sites do not get a planner, and they do not get a refund. That is why you now see a watermark on our photos and videos. It is there so you can tell what is really ours.
How do I know I am on the real shop?
Check these before you enter any payment details.
- The address bar says byevettesantos.com. Read the whole address, not just the start.
- You got there from our Instagram, @byevettesantos, or our TikTok, @byevettesantos, or by typing the address yourself. Our TikTok Shop and Instagram shop, @Byevettesantos, are ours too.
- The shop looks and works the way ours always has: our logo, our planners, our Ordering and Shipping page and Contact us page.
- The content has our watermark.
What if I found an ad?
Do not buy from it. Search for the shop name plus the word scam or complaint, and open byevettesantos.com directly instead. If an ad uses our video, tell us through the Contact us page so we can report it.
What should I do if I already paid a fake site?
Act quickly.
- Contact your bank or card company and dispute the charge. Tell them you did not receive the product you ordered.
- If you paid with PayPal, open a dispute there.
- Change any password you reused on that site.
- Report it to the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
How can I stay safe when shopping from an ad?
Big discounts and countdown timers are common on fake sites. Take a minute before you pay. Look at the address, look for a real Contact page, and pay with a card or PayPal, which give you a way to dispute a charge.
